Some suspected political thugs at the LEA Primary School in Ikwa, Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council of Federal Capital Territory, on Saturday, threatened to beat up a Daily Trust reporter, Idowu Isamotu.
The thugs, who accused the journalist of filming them while distributing some money among the voters, mostly women, said they would inflict injuries on him if he tried further to capture the scene.
Isamotu, an accredited journalist by the INEC who was covering the ongoing FCT council election, had gone to the polling unit to report the situation of things.
The journalist was trying to capture the vote-buying which was openly done by various party agents when some political thugs challenged him to stop his work.
One of the thugs was heard saying, ”You dey capture what’s happening ba? If you continue ba, we will ensure you leave here with injuries.”
The journalist hurriedly left the scene to inform security agents on ground.
