FCT police arrest six suspects over murder of female pastor

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested six suspects over the murder of female pastors, in Kubwa satellite area of the FCT, Abuja.

Pastor Eunice Mojisola was reportedly killed in the early hours of Saturday morning, at the Bazango pipeline area of Kubwa where she was attacked and found dead from knife wounds, around 7 am, in the morning.

Mrs Mojisola was said to have embarked on an early morning evangelism preaching with the aid of a megaphone through the streets of the neighbourhood when she was attacked, Daily Trust learnt yesterday.

It was gathered that she was attacked at an isolated area around close to a refuge dumpsite in the pipelines area of Kubwa.

In a statement on Sunday the spokesman of the FCT police command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anjuguri Manzah said  FCT, Commissioner of Police (CP) Alkali Usman has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) to lead a discreet investigation into the murder of Mrs. Eunice Mojisola Wale.

He said the 40 years old was murdered by unknown persons in the early hours of Saturday at Bazango Pipeline area of Kubwa.

Manzah pointed out that six suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder are in Police custody and currently undergoing interrogation, adding that the outcome of the investigation will be made public.

He also said the CP commiserates with the family members of the deceased over the unfortunate incident and assured them and other residents of the area of the commitment and determination of the Command to fish-out perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to justice.

Manzah also enjoined residents of Kubwa and the general public to remain calm and cooperate with police in the ongoing investigation.

He said: "The following FCT Police emergency numbers 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883 can be used by the public to give information to police in respect of this matter or report any complaint or distress."

He further said: "Contrary to report from some sections of the media that the deceased’s head and leg was chopped-off, the Command wants to state that apart from marks of injury inflicted on some parts of her body, all parts of the deceased body are intact. "

"The Police has taken custody of her remains for preservation and examination," the Police statement said.
