A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the territory, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna Pai, has called on the Minister of State for FCT, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, to give attention to the provision of viable infrastructure in rural communities of the satellite towns.
Pai, who was also the PDP chairmanship aspirant during the last area council election in Kwali, said people across rural communities have been facing challenges of lack of viable amenities especially road networks and health care centres.

He said 80 percent of the rural dwellers were facing the challenge of lack of access to good roads especially farmers, who suffer untold hardship to transport their crops to the market.
“For example, in Kwali Area Council, there are no good access roads to enable farmers to transport their farm produce to the market, which is also applicable to other area councils,” he said.
According to him, people of the rural communities faced more hardship during the rainy season, saying such roads become impassable due to their deplorable nature caused by heavy rainfall.
He, therefore, appealed to the minister to create time out of her tight schedule to tour some of the rural communities in satellite towns to see things for herself.
The PDP chieftain said providing infrastructures and opening of rural roads in satellite towns will also help in decongesting the existing facilities in the capital city of Abuja.
