FCT gets first court recording system to boost efficiency

The Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory, Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf, has commissioned the Q-Soft Denovo, a technology that is Africa’s first court recording system developed by Funmi Quadri & Co.

The African first court recording system, according to him, will improve the number of cases heard daily across courts in Nigeria, thereby facilitating speedy dispensation of justice.

During the commissioning in Abuja recently, he said, “After court proceedings, judges now have access to media files & transcript of proceedings which is now increasing their output.

“In addition, this system connects the courts to the correctional centres remotely thereby reducing unnecessary adjournments leading to prison decongestion.”

The chief judge, who was represented by Justice Josephine Obanor, further noted that the court recording system deployed in their courtrooms has been proceedings seamless and faster, adding that courts are now able to give records of proceedings 24-48 hours afterward.

The system has been deployed in some high courts and Magistrate Court in the FCT and other states across the federation.
