Natives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have commended President Muhammad Buhari, the FCT minister, Malam Muhammad Bello; and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in the nation’s capital.
Their spokesman, Danjuma Tanko Dara, while speaking on the success of the just-concluded FCT area council election, gave the commendation during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.
He said, “Before the elections, in a press briefing, we called on the minister to speak to the political gladiators that were mandated to monitor the exercise for the APC; that they should not interfere in the process. The minister listened and the whole process was free, fair and credible. The peoples’ votes counted. We are grateful to the minister.”
Danjuma called on the elected chairmen, especially the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), to work in the interest of the people that gave them their votes.
