The Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf has announced local and foreign traning programmes for magistrates of the FCT judiciary.

Confirming this during the Magistrates’ End of Year Celebration and Dinner organised by the Magistrates Association of Nigeria (MAN) in honour of the FCT Chief Judge at the court’s headquarters in Abuja over the weekend, Justice Baba-Yusuf charged the magistrates to work hard.

“I encourage those who are doing well and those who are not doing well.

“If you are doing well, you will get your recognition,” he said.

In his address, the Deputy Chief Registrar, Magistrates, Celestine Odoh commended the chief judge for the training opportunities provided the Magistrates especially at the National Judicial Institute (NJI), the exchange programme in the UK, and a webinar.

Similarly, Justice Sylvanus Chinedy Oriji described the Chief judge as a “quintessential administrator”, who places importance to the welfare and development of judicial officers in the territory.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of gift to a former magistrate, now a judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Mabel Taiye Segun Bello by retired justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Mary Odili.
