FCT chief dies in kidnappers’ den

The abducted Village Head of Ketti community in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the FCT, Chief Sunday Zakwoyi, has been killed in his abductors’ den in a forest in Nasarawa State.

City & Crime reports that the late chief, one of his aides, Mr Markus Gade, and a resident were abducted on June 3, 2023, and that last week their abductors demanded a N9m ransom.

Confirming the chief’s death to our reporter on Sunday, the District Head of Ketti, Mr Alex Akata, said the chief was confirmed dead by those that were freed by the abductors last Friday night.

He said the late chief died on the next day he and two other victims arrived at their abductors’ den in a thick forest in Nasarawa State, saying the chief died as a result of trauma.

City & Crime learnt that the corpse of the chief might be difficult to trace as it might have decomposed.

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to confirm the incident.
