FCT area councils, others share N3.7bn November allocation as revenue declines

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has disbursed the sum of N3,726,007,503.49 to the six area councils in the FCT and other stakeholders as its share of statutory allocation for November 2021.

The figure indicates a major decline in revenue from N4,476,067,191.05 disbursed in October representing 16.8 per cent decrease.  

FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, who presided over the 160th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC), commended all stakeholders for their cooperation despite challenges recorded in the past.

The figures released also indicated that N1,767,197,906.24 was made available for distribution to the six area councils, while N1,958,809,597.25 was allocated for other stakeholders, bringing the total sum to N3,726,007,503.49. 

Distribution to the area councils showed that the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), received N343,069,976.60, while Gwagwalada got N347,078,072.19 with Kuje collecting N271, 445, 070.89.  

Others are Bwari which received N260,128,716.17, Abaji N272,495,125.97 and Kwali N272,980,944.42.

The distribution to other stakeholders includes primary school teachers, N1,587,221,127.01; 15 per cent Pension Funds, N226,478,989.57; one per cent Training Fund, N37,260,075.04; while 10 per cent Employer Pension Contribution got N107,849, 405.63, bringing the total to N1,958, 809, 597.25.

The minister used the occasion to charge area council authorities and other stakeholders to intensify efforts in ensuring timely evacuation of refuse during the festive period, noting that more domestic wastes are generated during holiday seasons.
