FCT: Abductors of 2 sisters demand N5 ransom

Bandits who abducted two sisters, Success Adeola and Ophray Adeola in Guita village in Byazhin ward, Kubwa in Bwari Area Council of the FCT have demanded N5 million as ransom.

City & Crime had reported that the bandits raided their family compound around 1 am on January 29 and took away the sisters.

Speaking to City & Crime yesterday, father of the two children, Adeola Sunday, a civil servant in Abuja, said the bandits had initially demanded for N30 million before settled on N5 million after series of negotiations.

He said he was able to escape from his compound after noticing their arrival and ran to the office of the vigilantes in the community but the gunmen left with the children before he returned with the vigilantes.

Also speaking, mother of the children, Mrs. Adeola, said the gunmen initially wanted to go with her but spared her after she complained to them about the condition of her legs.

“Then I begged them to allow me remove my cloth and give it to the children as they were not properly dressed, that was when one of them hit me and pushed me back. I felled down and became unconscious. By the time I regained my sense, they had already left with the children.’’

The family said they were now struggling to see how they could be able to meet up with the bandits’ demand.
