The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved the mode of primaries for Saturday, September 29, 2018 governorship primary elections scheduled to hold across the thirty-six states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement issued by APC’s acting National Publicity Secretary, Mr Yekini Nabena, on Tuesday, it stated that from the resolutions on the mode of primaries to be adopted, 17 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will use direct primaries.

The states are Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kano, Lagos, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Taraba, and Zamfara.

The remaining 19 states, according to the statement, had settled for indirect primaries. They include: Adamawa, Benue, Borno, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, and Yobe.

Meanwhile, the National Working Committee (NWC) has banned the Adamawa State Working Committee from participating either as delegates or superintendents over the governorship primaries holding in the state.

Nabena said the decision was taken due to the fact that the Adamawa State Working Committee was prejudiced in favour of a governorship aspirant.
