The newly appointed provost of the Federal College of Education Obudu, Cross River State Dr. James Bassey Ejue and that of Federal College of Education, Katsina, Katsina, Dr. Aliyu Idris Funtua have accepted their appointments and assumed leadership responsibilities.
The appointments were contained in a statement by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu. The appointments were with effect from the 19th of August, 2016 and for a first term of 4 years subject to renewal for a second term, the statement said. The conditions of service, including remunerations and fringe benefits shall be as approved for provosts in Federal Colleges of Education in the country.
Dr. Ejue, 52, holds a Doctorate Degree in Guidance and Counselling in 2003 from the University of Calabar. Until this appointment, he was the Provost of the Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa.
Dr. Funtua, 56, holds a PhD in Hausa Language from the Bayero University Kano, in 2015. He was the acting Provost of the institution before his new appointment.
The president is yet to name provosts for FCE Yola and Abeokuta after 6 months.
