FC Yarmalight to chase NPFL ticket with home grown talents

The proprietor of FC Yarmalight, Malam Farouk Yarma, has said his team will depend largely on grassroots players in Gombe state to prosecute this year’s Nigeria National League.

The privately owned club in Gombe state is in group A2 of the 2019 Nigeria National League season where they will be vying for promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Yarma who is also the Gombe State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment explained that for the 2019 season which commences on April 10, at least 85% of the players who will represent the club would be from Gombe state.

“As the Nigeria National League kicks off on April 10, I will like to urge our numerous fans to remain steadfast and continue to support the club with all vigour.

“The club will continue to develop young players and by so doing create employment opportunities for our youths in Gombe state.

“I can assure you that 85% of the registered players for the coming season will be from Gombe state.

“We have dug dip into the grassroots and have discovered talented young players who will complement the players we already have,” he stated.

The pioneer Executive Chairman of Gombe Sports Commission also said FC Yarmalight will depend heavily on their supporters and other football stakeholders in Gombe state to actualise their dream of playing in the topflight.

He added that plans have reached advanced stage for corporate bodies within and outside Gombe state to come in and assist the club financially.

“Without the supporters, the club will go nowhere. We have resolved to increase our cordial relationship with all the relevant football stakeholders in the country.

“Furthermore, we are working assiduously to get new sponsors that can complement the effort of our management.

“Our aim is to gain promotion to the NPFL so we are not afraid of storms, for we are learning how to sail our ship,” he submitted.
