The National Vice Chairman (South West) of the PDP, Makanjuola Ogundipe, has described Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State and other chieftains of the party supporting the National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, as “lawless individuals whose stock in trade is impunity.”
He, however, said nobody in the party, no matter how highly placed, could hold the hand of justice for impunity to thrive.
Ogundipe, a former chairman of the party in the state, who spoke with reporters in Ado Ekiti, said those belonging to the Makarfi-led faction only wanted to hijack the PDP for their selfish ambitions but had their hopes dashed by the Court of Appeal, which recognised Sheriff and his National Working Committee (NWC) as executives empowered by law to run the party.
He was reacting to the meeting held by the factional South West zone of the party in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, which was presided over by the zonal chairman, Dr Eddy Olafeso.
Ogundipe, under whose tenure Fayose won the 2014 governorship election, maintained that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff remained the national chairman of the party.
