Fayemi mandates police to fish out killers of APC treasurer

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has directed security agencies in the state to fish out killers of the treasurer of the state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), Elder Moses Adeoye, who was killed by gunmen at his Otun Ekiti residence on Tuesday night.

Elder Moses who was until recently chairman of the party in Moba Local Government, was trailed to his residence by the gunmen who later shot him in the presence of his family members while having his dinner.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Yinka Oyebode, said the governor, who vowed to get to the root of the matter, has directed all the security agencies in the state to ensure that the killers are apprehended and made to face the music.

He said the governor in a condolence message delivered to the family by a high power delegation comprising the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Biodun Oyebanji; Chief of Staff, Hon Biodun Omoleye; and Chief Alaba Abejide, commiserated with the family of the deceased, assuring them of justice in the matter, and assistance from the government.

In a different vein, Fayemi has ordered the immediate dissolution of the boards of government agencies, parastatals and corporations in the state.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Biodun Ouebanji said chairmen of the boards of the agencies should hand over to the most senior officer in their respective agencies but said the dissolution does not affect the statutory boards.
