The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum ((NGF) and Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has said governors are trying their best despite meagre resources available to them.
Speaking at the commissioning of the 4.3km Bosso Estate Road in Minna, Niger State capital yesterday, Fayemi said his counterparts were delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
He said as someone who governed during the oil boom and also now that there was a crash in oil price, he could only give kudos to his colleagues doing more with little resources.
He said Gov Abubakar Sani Bello was like President Muhammadu Buhari who was only after getting the work done.
According to Fayemi, “We are here today for that which we call talk and do. It is a challenging moment in our country, but despite that, the extent governors go to meet up with people’s demands won’t be understood.
“And Governor Bello is one of the most astute managers in terms of managing the meagre resources.
“It is a demonstration of what we have all learnt from our principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, as he has committed himself to infrastructural development which he has passed down to all of us to ensure that we resuscitate and rehabilitate infrastructure in our states.”
