Police in Ogun State have arrested a 45-year-old father, Akanji Oluwaseyi, for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter.
It was gathered that the suspect was arrested after a complaint from the victim, who reported at Obantoko Divisional headquarters, Abeokuta, on the 30th of December 2020.

The victim reportedly told police officers that her dad had visited the shop where she is a learning tailoring and requested that the mistress permit his daughter to help him fetch water at home.
According to her, when she was done fetching the water, the father suddenly grabbed her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Tuesday, told newsmen in Abeokuta that on the strength of the report, the DPO Obantoko Division, CSP Sunday Opebiyi, quickly detailed his detectives to the man’s house where he was promptly arrested.
“He initially denied the allegation but when he was confronted by the victim, he became dumbfounded,” he said.
Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun had ordered the immediate transfer of the case to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID) for further investigation and prosecution.
