Farmers seek compensation for slain colleagues’ families

Farmers at the ongoing feed the future events on Wednesda in Abuja urged the Federal Government to pay compensation to the families of their colleagues killed in Borno State at the weekend.

Dr Jones Ozuzu, National President, Nigerian Commercial Farmers Association, slammedthe Senior Special Assistant to President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, who said the slain farmers did not get security clearance before going to their farms.

National President, Sorghum Farmers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Lawal Gada, while sympathizing with the families of the slain farmers, urged the government to take a second look at the call for border reopening.
