The acting Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Hilary Madu, on Wednesday said the NSCDC had trained over 5,000 mediators to find solutions to the perennial clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the country.
Madu stated this in Abuja on yesterday at a meeting with states and zonal commandants.

She said the corps had establishes reconciliation centres in various states.
Madu said the reconciliators trained by the United Nations Development Programme were expected to engage those involved in herders-farmers to bring the lingering clashes to an end.
She said the corps would massively deploy and engage agro-rangers operatives in fighting crimes since most of the crimes were now being perpetrated in forest and bushes.
