Farmer steals 3 bags of maize from colleague’s farm

Vigilantes have arrested a farmer, simply identified as Kabiru, for allegedly harvesting three bags of maize from another man’s (Iliya Audu’s) farm in Tungan-Sarki community in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

A vigilante, Saidu Ibrahim, said the suspect was arrested on Monday around 3am while conveying the maize to a market in the area.

He said the owner of the farm, last week, discovered that his maize was harvested and reported to the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).

He further said that the suspect confessed to the crime and promised to lead the vigilantes to the people he usually sold the maize to.

The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
