The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Yobe State Command has resolved over 50 conflicts between farmers and herders in the four frontline local government areas in the state.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Malam Adamu Idris Zakar, stated this to newsmen at an exercise in counter-insurgency operations to mark the 2024 World Civil Defence Day in Damaturu, the state capital of Yobe.
He said the personnel of the agro rangers department in the state command have resolved farmers and herders conflicts in the Bursari Gujba, Gulani, Fika, and Fune LGAs in the state.
He reaffirmed the commitments of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Yobe State Command, saying the achievements were recorded from June 2023 to February 2024.

According to him, the issues of farmers and herders clashes in the frontline areas have been resolved in a holistic approach, adding that the security agencies alone cannot resolve the issue of insecurity in the country.
He added that one of the personnel of the command was gallantly killed by the insurgents in Geidam LGA of the State, saying the officers of the command have suffered so many setbacks despite the fact that the corps have recorded so many achievements.
