The police in Kwara State have arraigned a farmer, Oro Umaru, at a magistrates’ court for allegedly cutting off the right wrist of his neighbour, Sanda Abubakar, who he alleged slept with his wife in Kaiama LGA.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the case was reported by the brother of the victim, Sanda Mohammed.
The FIR reads in part: “You attacked and macheted the victim on his forehead and caught off his right wrist in the process while returning from Kara Market.
“You confessed that you were neighbours and had suspected the victim was having an affair with your wife, Fatima, having caught them on several occasions.

“You said he took to his heels when he sighted you coming while discussing with Fatima before you went and attacked him.”
The prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni, urged the court to remand the defendant.
The Magistrate, Gbadeyan Kamson, ordered the remand of the suspect and adjourned the case to October 11, 2023.
