The Oyo State police command on Tuesday confirmed that a farmer and a couple were on Monday abducted by gunmen at different locations in Oluyole Local Government Area of Ibadan, the state capital.
The state police spokesman, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident to reporters in Ibadan on Tuesday, said investigation had commenced into the kidnap incident.

Fadeyi said: “A couple was abducted at Alabameji village, Sanyo area [Monday] at about 2:20 pm in their farm.
“The DPO and team immediately moved to the scene for on-the-spot assessment. Investigations have commenced and we are on the trail of the hoodlums to arrest them and release the abductee.”
The police boss however did not confirm the abduction of the farmer.
Daily Trust gathered that the couple was abducted inside their farm located at Alabameji Village, Sanyo area, while the farmer was kidnapped from Soka area of Ibadan.
Our correspondent reports that members of Redeem Christian Church of God and a staff of Polaris Bank were recently abducted in the same Oluyole LGA.
