A Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Thursday remanded three farm workers in a correctional facility for allegedly killing, Jamiu Ibrahim, 45, during an armed robbery operation.
The suspects, Isiaka Sabi, Hassan Bature and Ardo Umaru on June 29, 2022, allegedly conspired and killed a resident of Idofin Odo-Ashe in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), five gunmen invaded the deceased farm behind his house in July, dragged him out of his room into a guinea corn farm where he was shot and abandoned to die in a pool of his blood for refusing to give them money.
“Concerted efforts by the vigilantes in Oke-Ero led to the arrest of the suspects. During a discreet investigation conducted at SCID Ilorin, it was revealed that Sabi Isiaka, who was a labourer working for the deceased, invited the other two suspects from different farms to rob the deceased. Sabi Isiaka confessed to have conspired with the other two suspects including Janyo Dogo and Ahiyah (at large) to rob the deceased,” the charge sheet read.
The Police Prosecutor, Thomas Adebayo, urged the court to remand the suspects. The defendant was represented by Shuaib Oniye.
In her ruling, Magistrate A. Mogaji, aligned with the position of the prosecutor. The case was adjourned to September 1, 2022.
