The family of Jos-based Islamic scholar, Dr. Nazif Yunus yesterday expressed gratitude to God for the conditional release of the Islamic scholar who has been in detention for almost three years.
Daily Trust had last week reported that the Islamic scholar, ‘falsely’ accused of being the spiritual leader and recruitment coordinator of a Boko Haram cell in Kogi State since 2013, was in need of urgent medical attention. His wife, Sa’adatu Yunus, told our correspondent that the health of Dr. Yunus who was diagnosed with Ulcer and Hepatitis B at the time of his arrest, was deteriorating which necessitated his absence in court last week.
However, the family yesterday, speaking in a joyous mood through Sa’adatu, told journalists that the court had heeded their cry over his health challenges by granting him bail.
