The family of late business icon and a renowned Islamic scholar, Khalifa Sheikh Isiaku Rabi’u, has organised a Qur’anic recitation competition in memory of their late father.
Speaking on behalf of the family during the prize presentation to winners, Alhaji Rabi’u Ishaq Rabi’u Junior explained that it was a way of immortalising their late father through encouraging and promoting Qur’anic recitation, especially among the youths.
“Our father lived all his life promoting the recitation and teaching of the holy Qur’an. That is why the family, under Sheikh Muhammad Rabi’u Islamic Foundation, decided to continue with what he started as a way of immortalising him by encouraging and promoting the Qur’anic recitation,” Junior said.
He stated that the family decided to make the competition an annual event with the hope of taking it to the national level.
In his speech, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, tasked youths on following the teaching of the Holy Qur’an.
The emir also urged youths in the state not to relent in their quest for knowledge and to put the knowledge they acquired into practice as a way of ensuring sustainable socio-economic growth.
