Family faults police on Prof Falaki’s death

In a petition titled: “Extra-Judicial killing of Professor Ahmad Musatapha Falaki” sent to the Inspector General of Police, the family said based upon the  accounts of survivors of the attack and other witnesses, the account given by the police was false.
According to the petition signed by Aminu Mustapha Daneji, the late professor’s family wants the Inspector General of Police to investigate the killing, noting that they suspected extra-judicial killing.
“It should be thoroughly investigated and any person who has a hand in it be appropriately dealt with as provided by law. The report of the investigation should be made available to members of the family and his employers,” it said the family asked the police to retract their claim that  the deceased and the others were members of Boko Haram.
