Popular skit Maker and comedian, Debo Adebayo known as Mr. Macaroni, and rapper, Folarin Falana, known as Falz, have declined the invitation of the Lagos State Governor,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a peace rally as part of the wound healing process in the aftermath of the #EndSARS panel report.

Sanwo-Olu had invited the duo, who are strong #EndSARS supporters and other youth championing the #EndSARS agitation to a peace rally slated for December.

He stated that the ‘Walk for Peace’ would herald the healing of the land, extending an open invitation to the youths, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society groups, students and the media as well as other stakeholders to join him in the Peace Walk.

The Governor specifically invited Folarin Falana (Falz), Debo Adebayo (Mr. Marcaroni), Dele Farotimi, Temitope Majekodunmi, Segun Awosanya (Segalinks), Adedotun (Just Detoun), Seun Kuti, Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu and Commander of Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Yinka Egbeyemi and others to join him in the “historic march for our dear Lagos.”

But Mr. Macaroni in a post on his social media platforms declined the governor’s invitation.

“I humbly decline the Invitation of Mr Governor,” Adebayo said.

Rather he asked the government to implement the recommendations of the panel it set up which recently submitted its report.

“The Government themselves set up a panel. The panel has made recommendations. I believe that genuine peacemaking will begin by first implementing the recommendations of the panel. Then we can begin to trust the government,” he wrote.

Falz also rejected the invitation which he described as a joke.

Daily Trust reports that the presentation of the report has triggered another round of controversy after the leakage of the report before the release of white paper by the state government.
