Fake professorship: Ganduje demands apology from American varsity

Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has asked the East Carolina University (ECU) of the United States to apologise over the conferment of fake professorship on him.

The university, said to have appointed the governor as a visiting professor had on Friday denied doing so.

The university in a letter obtained by Daily Trust, said the letter claimed to have been sent to the governor by one of its faculty members was neither authorised by the management nor sent with their consent.

But, Ganduje in a statement on Sunday by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji demanded ‘unequivocal apology’ from the management and called for a disciplinary action against the faculty member that stirred up the controversy.
