Fake police officer operating for 13 years arrested

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a Level-14 elementary school teacher at Ikereku- Idan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Mr Adebisi Ayodele, who has been parading himself for 13 years as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to the Police Mobile Force Unit.

Adebisi was arrested when the “Operation Restore Peace” attached to the Oyo State Police Command was conducting a stop-and-search.

The command’s spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, who paraded the suspect in Ibadan on Tuesday, said he operated in isolation along adjoining routes and link roads sharing boundaries with Oyo, Ekiti and his base in Ogun State.

According to him, the suspect was arrested last Sunday on Asejire Bridge in Egbeda LGA while providing illegal escort services in a Mistubish space wagon with registration number: ARP 34 AA, dressed in complete police uniform.

Osifeso said the suspect confessed to have been practicing the act for 13 years and had successfully misled a lot of people by his action.

He further said the point of arrest he was found in possession of two unexpended canisters (teargas) and a complete kit of Police Mobile Force Uniform.
