Fadama trains 200 unemployed graduates

 The National Fadama Coordination Office (NFCO) in collaboration with the Kogi State Fadama Office has commenced a two-week training in agriculture for 200 unemployed graduates under the World Bank-funded Graduate Unemployed Youth Supports (GUYS) project.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Oloruntoba Kehinde, who declared the training open at the College of Agriculture, Kabba, noted that agriculture has become a gainful venture in the face of the nation’s dwindling oil resources and urged the participants to take the training serious.

The representative of the World Bank and National Project Coordinator, Mr Peter Ajibaye, who assured that the training would go a long way in supporting young people, lamented the alarming rate of unemployed graduates in the country.

The Fadama III State Project Coordinator in the state, Mr Paul Ogunmola expressed appreciation to the state government for the prompt payment of the counterpart funds that has made the programme a reality.
