Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said if not for the penchant for “repeating classes” associated to the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, he would have love to give him (Doguwa) promotion.
Tinubu made the comment in an apparent comic reference to Doguwa’s long stay at the green chamber representing Doguwa/Tudunwada federal constituency first in 1992 and uninterrupted since 2007.

Speaking during his 2-day visit to Kano state to commission the party’s campaign office, the presidential candidate said, “I see Doguwa, he never passes exams when it comes to moving in the National Assembly, he is always failing. So he has to repeat that class. (sic)
“Doguwa, you hear me? I thought I will give you promotion this year but you said you want to repeat again (sic),”
Tinubu arrived in Kano around 1pm to a rousing welcome, which saw his convoy of over 80 vehicles spend almost two hours in moving from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to Club Road, the venue of the first commissioning of campaign office where the remark was made.
The trip would normally take less than 10minutes.
The APC presidential candidate is expected to meet with traditional leaders, religious groups and political groups on Sunday and then depart the state on Monday.
