Exterminate all the brutes(ses)

‘Don’t tell me you’ve once again found something too captivating to put down in that newspaper. Because if you did, I’ll have to beg you to leave my room until you are through with it. I feel so sleepy I can’t wait to put my head on a pillow. Any movement of newspaper pages will definitely disturb me.’ Tahir complained, walking towards the bed from his bathroom, where he had gone to brush his teeth.
‘No Tahir, what I’m reading is too horrible to be captivating. In fact I am thoroughly enraged. The only reason I’m reading it to the end is to see whether any motive may be cited for such horrendous inhumanity.’ I replied, lowering the paper from my face.
‘And what horrible tale is that Bint? I mean despite my sleepy head you have roused my interest sufficiently enough to make me want to know.’ He answered, towering over where I sat on the bedroom chair.
‘Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, look at what another evil stepmum did.’ I declared holding the paper up to him. ‘I mean was it not just last week that we were lamenting the awful way a crazy young wife castrated her poor 23 day old stepson? And we were just trying to get over the horror of the two stepmothers who virtually mutilated a living toddler called Musa. Musa’s case was particularly shocking because his tongue was partially cut, his one eye damaged and his hands and arms were broken by those totally heartless devils who called themselves women. And just when we thought it couldn’t get worse than that, we woke up to this sordid story. In this latest tale of infamy, the fantastically murderous stepmum simply targeted a two-hour old baby left in her care while the mother took a bath and fed him with poisonous insecticide. What on earth is wrong with these women?’ I cried, letting him take the paper from me.
‘Sheer jealousy, I think.’ Tahir replied after taking hold of the newspaper. ‘You know some women just can’t help themselves.’ He added.
‘No Hubby dear, I don’t think ordinary jealousy can explain this. There is more to this sudden, murderous attacks on innocent little stepsons than meets the eye. No normal person can’t take out their anger on little defenceless children like that unlese there is something totally wrong with them. You know how the new statistics are saying that more and more women are into drugs than before. I think this is a manifestation of that claim. Men need to be more careful about the women they drag home as second or third wives. It takes women with violent pasts and some mental instability to attack children who can do them no harm because they are jealous of their mothers.’ I argued.
‘You may be right Bint but what can you people do about it now that their number seems to be on rise. It doesn’t seem as if they are deterred by the fact that they are being caught. One would’ve expected this new assailant not to try what she did after hearing about the other two cases. Alas she didn’t seem to care.’ Tahir observed, sitting at the dge of his bed.
‘We will really have to do something about these evil women who are busy doing the devil’s own work and tarnishing the image of all of us in the process. When I call for a meeting of the Ladies’ Parliament this weekend, it will be top on our agenda. We will campaign vigorously against violence on minors. If any woman has a grouse with her co-wife she should either confront her or report to their husband or elders. Children must not be made to pay for their parents’ sins. Meanwhile, we will also campaign that these four women must not be spared. They must all be tried and sentenced to death for attempted murder.’ I declared.
‘To death Bint? No that is too harsh, they didn’t kill anyone. You yourself said attempted murder, its not the same thing as murder.’ He countered.
‘Maybe not, but in each case the motive was to kill. If they had suceeded it would have been murder. And given half the chance such hard hearted, inhuman women can strike again. What sympathy should anyone have have for an adult who can be so brutal towards an infant or even a fresh newborn? No, we are definitely going to call for death penalty on these women. They have to be exterminated as punishment and to deter like-minded evil geniuses from copying them. Indeed we are going to hold a demonstration to denounce them and their evil harvests. And on one of the placards we will  write “Exterminate all the brutesses” They should know that we are not for them.’ I said.
‘Yes, you have a point there. And you are right to be upset about these women. But allow justice to take its course, we have the relevant laws for each offence. Let our courts decide what these women deserve. Do not worry your pretty head over what their punishment should be. Please come to bed and rest.’ He said, lying on his side and extending a hand to me.
