An Islamic scholar, Ustadh Abubakar Muhammad, has called on Muslim women to always protect their chastity to attract Allah’s pleasure and reward of eternal paradise.
He made the call at an annual public lecture organised by Al Akhwaatul Muslimaat Organisation in Abuja.
Ustadh, who is also the Ameer of One Ummah organisation, while speaking on the topic; “Chastity in the Life of Muslimah”, said in Islam, chastity is considered as a sign of piety.
He said this implies that a woman abstains from sexual relationship before marriage and ensures complete fidelity and loyalty to her spouse after marriage.

He said God has promised to elevate any woman who protects her chastity.
While sighting examples of some great women who protected their chastity in the history of Islam to include virgin Mary, Ustadh stated that Allah had elevated her through the birth of Prophet Isa.
He, therefore, urged parents to train their children in way of God that attracts Allah’s mercies and curb social vices in society.
Both Ustadh Muhammad and Alhaji AbdulRahman Balogun, the National President of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), noted that the society now paid little attention to the development and growth of male-child while aggressively pursuing girl-child education and women empowerment programmes.
They advocated a stoppage to this trend that posed a huge challenge to societal growth as more women seemed to be psychologically and emotionally stable than men.
The Ameer of One Ummah organisation said: “The society is shifting away from grooming men to be men. Men don’t see it as a problem. Women don’t see it as a problem. It is one of the challenges we have in our society. Men also break down.”
Balogun, while expressing his views on this, noted that, “The girls we are training will end marrying these (neglected) boys.”
Ustadh Aliy Shuaibu Abdusallam, District Coordinator, Majlis Tajdeed Tadhamunul Muslimeen Association (MTTA), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), underscored the need for parents to protect our daughters from social media content that could destroy their lives.
