The FCT Water Board yesterday said full water supply will be restored from today.

The Board had Monday last week shut down public water supply to many parts of Abuja for rehabilitation work at its water reservoir in Usuman Dam. A statement by the board last week said the shutdown would last for five days.

But in a telephone interview with Daily Trust yesterday, the General Manager of the Board, Dame Joy Okoro, said the board would, this morning, restore full water supply in all the affected areas. She said although the work was still ongoing, normal water supply can be restored without much hindrance.

The GM said while places like Asokoro, Barracks and Garki had their supply restored, it was not the same at areas like Kubwa and Gwagwalada, which up till yesterday, had no water.

She, however, said all the areas would start having safe and quality water from today.

She thanked residents of the affected areas for their understanding and patience during the period.
