Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr Issa Pantami has thrown his weight behind scholastic work on leadership and personal development recently published by Dr Ahmed Adamu. Dr. Adamu, a trained petroleum economist was the pioneer global president of the Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) and now a university lecturer.

Speaking at the launch of the book which is in series of 1-10 in Abuja, Dr Pantami who was represented by Engr. Salisu Kaka said the book was timely given that Nigeria was still facing leadership crisis at different levels in spite of the progress made so far.

“The country as a whole, we are struggling with leadership, let’s be honest with ourselves. We are still in the learning process.  It is now a responsibility of our young ones to salvage the situation to give a good example for future generations,” he said.

“I wish we got more of Ahmad, to gather ideas and put them down in writing for the betterment of our system and to guarantee the future of the yet unborn children.”

Dr Adamu said he focused on leadership and personal development because: “I believe for us to build a great nation; we have to build great people. It is the people that make countries great. People have to take personal responsibility for their own development before they can impact or make a difference.”

He said the book whose inspiration he got to write after training over 500 young people on leadership “equip people with knowledge and skills of becoming better leaders.” Series 4-10 are to be launched at future dates.

Representative of Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, Hon Abdulssamad Dasuki commended the author saying: “You have our support in your stride for a better Nigeria. I recommend the books to all schools, institutions and libraries.”
