Ex-Super Eagle, Temile to unveil Football Foundation Oct 28

Former Super Eagles players and other football personalities in Nigeria will converge on Lagos on Saturday, October 28 as one of their colleagues, Clement Temile, unveils his Football Foundation.

Speaking ahead of the event scheduled to be held at the National Institute for Sports (NIS) in Lagos, Temile said he wants to use the Foundation to give something back to his country.

The former Bendel Insurance, NNPC Warri, BCC Lions and Abiola Babes player said “Football made me who I am today and I return all glory to God for the grace to serve my father land. Now, I want to give back to the country by raising future stars by creating opportunities for them to showcase their God given talents in football.

“We decided to unveil the Foundation at the Lagos National Stadium because of the fond memories the Super Eagles and Nigerian Sports shared here. “I’m equally delighted that a lot of people are supporting this initiative and have pledged to be in attendance”.

Temile said the Foundation will provide educational opportunities for indigent students, rehabilitate, assist injured, sick  ex-players,  give support to  widows and families of late footballers, expose players to  international training and mentor them to become good role models.

He added that the Clement Temile Foundation will help educate players on how to manage resources, manage post- retirement life and provide support  to people in dire need.

Meanwhile, organisers of the event have listed the president of Nigerian Players Union, Tijani Babangida, Victor Ikpeba, Peter Rufai, Monday Eguavoen,  Tajudeen  Disu, Joshua  Ekator, Wahidi Akanni, Tajudeen  Ajide  as some of the former internationals who will grace the occasion.
