The immediate past President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), Jonathan Asake, has emerged as LP’s governorship candidate in Kaduna State.
A former Majority Leader in the House Assembly, Alhaji Bashir Idris, was picked as his running mate.
Asake, a former House of Representatives member, clinched the party’s ticket in a fresh primary following the withdrawal of Mr Shunom Adinga, the party’s flagbearer in the state, from the race.
According to Asake, he joined the governorship race to answer the clarion call of his people.
He said LP was determined to wrest power from the ruling APC in the state and bring it back to its golden days.
He pledged to run an inclusive government if elected in 2023.
Asake emerged through affirmation by party delegates from all the local government areas of the state.
