A former presidential candidate of the defunct People’s Trust, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, on Wednesday announced his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He described his new party, APC, as a reasonable pathway for the preservation of the unity and progress of the nation, adding that his defection became imperative to rejuvenate his long-term struggle for the improvement of the lot of the people.

He stressed that he is now also convinced about the passion of President Muhammadu Buhari against corruption even though critics have questioned the effectiveness of his anti-corruption crusade.
