A former factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State, Alhaji Ali Bagudo and Alhaji Abdullahi Maigandi Yauri, zonal vice chairman of the party in Kebbi South, have decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The PDP chieftains decamped to the APC barely four days to the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
While receiving the former PDP chieftains alongside their supporters, Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu said he was happy they took the decision to join the APC.
He said: “You have made a wise decision by coming to the party that will take you to the promised land, APC whose slogan is change, has touched the lives of the masses through empowering of youths and women.”
The state chairman of APC, Alhaji Sani Kangiwa, commended the defected members for making the decision to join the APC.
He assured them of fairness and promised to carry them along in the activities of the state.
He said: “It is good we join hands together and move the state forward. Governor Bagudu has done a lot in the state, there is need to support his re-election to complete the ongoing projects.”
