The immediate-past Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission (PCC) and chairman, Forum of 2023 governorship aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, Hon Chille Igbawua, has described a former Senate President, Iyorchia Ayu, as competent and properly endowed with the right character to lead the PDP as National chairman.
This is as Igbawua, in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, congratulated Governor Samuel Ortom and the North-Central stakeholders of the PDP for their choice of Dr Ayu, as consensus candidate for the party’s top job.

He said that Ayu’s qualities in leadership and ability to deliver tough assignments have endeared him to many Nigerians irrespective of tribe or religion.
While felicitating with the Muslim faithful in Benue and the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Maulud celebration which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad, he charged them to use the occasion of the Maulud to pray for the peace, security and economic growth of the state and Nigeria in general.
Igbawua, a top PDP governorship aspirant in Benue, equally commended the Northern leaders of the party for their endorsement of the candidature of Senator Ayu ahead of the PDP special elective convention.
He said their approval indicates that the PDP was set to return to its winning ways and ready to rescue Nigeria.
Igbawua said that coming from the Ivory Tower and having served as President of Senate and Federal Minister, among other sensitive assignments, Senator Ayu had acquired sufficient requisite experience to lead the PDP to greatness and victory.
He said that Senator Ayu has the creativity, vibrancy and determination to achieve and deliver on set goals and that his leadership of the party would provide excellent norms and deepen democratic culture in the country.
