The late Muazu Isa died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 75 after a brief illness. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites in Funtua, Katsina State. He was survived by three wives and 18 children, among them, Alhaji Ibrahim Mu’azu Isa, Personnel Manager of Funtua Textiles Limited, Alhaji Abubakar Mu’azu Isa of Unity Bank, Lafiya branch and Nasiru Mu’azu Isa of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) World Service, Abuja.

He also left behind several brothers and sisters, among them, Malam Ismaila Isa Funtua, former President Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN) and Chairman of Bulet International Nigeria Limited, Abuja. Among early symphasisers to the family of the deceased were the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, former President of Court of Appeal and Galadiman Katsina, Alhaji Mamman Nasiri, District Head of Funtua, Alhaji Sambo Idris Sambo and Katsina State Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua.
