The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has assumed duty as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Yobe State.
In a statement, Abdullahi’s spokesman, Ibrahim Isah, said the institution held its inaugural council meeting where the new chairman pledged his commitment to synergise with both federal and state governments to enhance education standard in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
He said the chairman, who led his council members and principal officers of the polytechnic on a visit to the Deputy Governor of the state, Idris Barde Gubana, promised to work closely with stakeholders to improve the standard of the education sector in the state.
He said the chairman outlined the board’s blue print to reposition the polytechnic.

Isah said that the deputy governor expressed joy with their visit, noting that the state government was impressed with the calibre of the council’s members and urged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear.
He assured them of effective synergy and support of the government to enable them deliver on their mandate.
