A former minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged winner of the Benue South senatorial district.
Moro got 85,162 votes to beat his main challenger, Steven Lawani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 47,972 votes.
The senatorial seat is currently being occupied by ex-Senate president, David Mark.
The former minister won in all the nine local government areas of the zone leaving the SDP candidate, Chief Mike Onoja with 29,901 and APDA candidate, Alhaji Usman Abubakar (Young Alhaji) who polled 5,504.
The result was declared on Monday in Otukpo by the INEC Returning Officer, Professor Aunde Anune.
