Mohammed Ibrahim Idris, the son of former Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, is dead.
He died on Wednesday at his residence in Abuja at the age of 54.
A family source said he collapsed shortly after returning from Eid prayers.
The source said the deceased was hale and hearty before he left for Eid-el-Fitr prayer in the morning.

“He came back from the Eid praying ground and complained of unusual feeling. He died shortly after,” said the family source, who preferred not to be named.
The late former federal lawmaker, born on December 8, 1969, represented the Ankpa/Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency from 2011 to 2015, leaving behind a legacy of political and business accomplishments.
The Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has extended his condolences to Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and the entire family.
Governor Ododo expressed deep sympathy and described the passing of Hon. Mohammed Ibrahim Idris as a tragic loss.
He highlighted the late lawmaker’s role as an elder brother and a valued partner in discussions about the state’s development during their last meeting in March 2024.
Ododo encouraged the family to find comfort in the fact that Mohammed Ibrahim Idris lived a life marked by significant achievements both in politics and business.
He prayed for the eternal rest of the former lawmaker and for the family to find strength in coping with their loss.
