Ex-Kano deputy governor confirms dumping PDP

Former Kano state Deputy Governor, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, has confirmed his membership withdrawal from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Prof. Abubakar confirmed to Daily Trust on Wednesday via SMS when our reporter sent him a text message requesting for confirmation.

In his reply, the former deputy governor said: “It is true and I will speak soonest.”

Daily Trust recalled that a letter for his membership withdrawal from the PDP has been on circulation on the social media platforms in the last three days.

Professor Abubakar resigned from his positions as deputy governor and commissioner of Education on August 4, 2018 and subsequently joined PDP.

It would be recalled that shortly after he joined the gubernatorial race under the PDP, he lost due to some circumstances.
