A chairmanship candidate in the last Kaduna state local government election, Steven Inuwa, was on Sunday shot dead in Abuja.
Inuwa had contested under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
His friend, Earnest Agatha, was also killed by yet to be identified gunmen, who fired shots toward the vehicle they were driving around Zuma community on the outskirts of Bwari town.
A close associate of the deceased, John Alpha, while speaking to City News yesterday, said Agatha who was driving the vehicle, died instantly, while the politician was rushed to Bwari general hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Contacted, the FCT police command’s spoke person, DSP Josephine Adah, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation into the matter is ongoing.
