A purported list of some 151 selected eminent personalities was recently carried in the news media, alleging that it was drawn by a certain contact group facilitating campaign for the re-election of Jonathan in 2015.
But Abdulkadir, who expressed surprise to have seen his name on the list said: “Yes, I am aware but I have not been contacted and from now to 2015 is a long way to go and I don’t want to be contacted. I saw my name after it had been published and nobody contacted me, I didn’t have the slightest idea before that. But even if I am contacted I am not ready to be part of the team, since I am entitled to my own personal decision.”
He said the issue surprised him “Because I know what to do and I think the people behind the list were supposed to have informed me and I consider that to be a crooked way of doing things.”
He said he had no message for the so-called Jonathan contact group, but said he thinks by doing that, they were trying to make cheap publicity for themselves. He added if his name was mentioned in a project concerning the Nigerian nation, he would not hesitate to participate. However, when the project turns out to serve a particular political purpose, he is not ready to oblige the invitation, he said.
