Gunmen suspected to be kidnapers, have abducted 10 persons on Saturday evening, in Kuje Area council of Abuja.
The victims including a former vice chairman of the council and present Sarkin-noma of Kuje, were said to be returning from a nearby village and heading to Kuje town where they reside, when they were attacked by the kidnappers, and taken into the bush.
A resident who craved anonymity said on Sunday morning that all the abductees who came from Unguwar Gade area in Kuje, have been to a nearby village of Kabi on the outskirts of the town to celebrate the appointment of a kinsman’s appointment as education secretary of the council area.
“There is no communication so far about their condition or what is the motive behind the abduction,” the source said.
Police is yet to respond to Daily Trust’s request for a comment.
But one of the aides to the present chairman of Kuje council Abdullahi Sulaiman Sabo has confirmed the incident.
