Ex-convict burgles store in Ogun

Men of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have arrested a 24-year-old ex-convict, Ezekiel Victor Thankgod, for allegedly burgling a store and stealing an air conditioner.

The spokesman of the corps, Moruf Yusuf, explained that the suspect, a resident of Tokis Street, Behind Covenant Store, Oju-Ore, was caught stealing a Royal Air Conditioner (Model: R410 Outdoor) from Covenant Stores, Oju-Ore, in Ado-Odo/Ota LGA.

Yusuf said that during preliminary investigation it was discovered that the suspect had been jailed for a similar offence.

He explained that, “He has a history of stealing money and phones and was released from a correctional centre in January, this year.

“The suspect confessed to the crime and disclosed that he resided anywhere, mentioning his association with the Oloko community in Ota.”

He added that charms, drugs, a lighter, a ring and cowries were found on the suspect, noting that he had been handed over to the police.
