A former journalist with BBC Hausa, Maude Rabiu Gwadabe, has been appointed General Manager of a newly established radio station in Kano, Nasara Radio.
The new station said to have been floated by former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was granted approval by the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) to start test transmission this week.
A statement issued by the station’s project coordinator and secretary of the technical implementation committee, Alh. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Monday said Nasara Radio is designed to promote and protect a responsible society through innovative programmes and news content with a high value of objectivity, fairness and timeliness.
Maude Rabiu Gwadabe, a Ph.D holder has worked with Triumph Newspaper publishing in Kano, Freedom Radio 99.5FM, BBC Hausa Service and Bayero University, Kano as a lecturer, where he later resigned and is currently the publisher of an online newspaper, Kano Focus.
